Our Story

Established in 1959, Raux Brothers is a household name for contemporary Sri Lankan furniture with a devoted customer base.

Combining Graham’s production and design experience with Asep’s expertise in overseas marketing, Tropicology has been formed to bring the best of two islands – the Indonesian Archipelago and the pearl of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka. With this new venture, we aim to manufacture and source the global demand for contemporary, high-quality outdoor furniture.

We have recognized a rising need for stylish, timeless and high quality durable outdoor furniture that will last the test of time. All-weather furniture designs tend to prioritise its practical use without much thought on aesthetics, but at Tropicology we want to create furniture that is not only weather-resistant but that also has a personalized touch.

Graham Raux (Director)

Graham Raux is the Managing Director of Raux Brothers, with 30 years of experience in furniture manufacturing and sourcing. Graham’s passion for business stems from his DNA, with Raux Brothers being a prestigious furniture manufacturer for the past 60 years. He has transformed the family-run company into a leading producer providing needs for both retail and contracted projects.

His passion and drive has allowed him to take Raux Brothers to great heights. Graham is a committed leader who sets high standards and guides, motivates and encourages his team to achieve the set goals.

With a keen eye for outdoor and indoor design aesthetics, Graham Raux created Tropicology inspired by the tropical splendour of our island. Applying his years of experience within the local furniture manufacturing business he now plans to capture the global market with this collection of contemporary outdoor furniture.

Asep Supriatna (Director)

Asep Supriatna has over 23 years of experience within the international furniture industry, including indoor and outdoor furniture and interior décor. He is the owner and founder of CV Maras a trading company established in 1998 involved in exporting home furnishings and interior décor.

Paying attention to product quality, price, and market trends, he has supplied some of the largest chain stores in Europe, Australia, and Asia, as well as contract-based projects (Cruises, Hotels, resorts, and private residences).

“My mission is to introduce iconic and good quality furniture made in Indonesia to International Markets at a more reasonable pricing at the right quality for the right markets”.
